Flowers: Dark pink fringe-like flowers
multiple times a year. Flowers are similar to Witch Hazel.
Some winter flowering during warmer spells.
Size: 6-8 feet in height and width. Maybe taller without pruning. 'Plum Delight' has tight growth habit, with an arching appearance.
Foliage Color: Reddish-purple foliage year around. Unlike some of the other purple leafed varieties it retains it coloration on old and new growth. Like all Loropetalum it will lose some leaves in the winter.
Hardiness Zones: 7-9
Light Requirement: Full-Sun to Part-Shade. Will grow in the shade with looser habit and less flowers.
Drought Tolerance: Moderate to High
Notes: This evergreen shrub works great as a large hedge. 'Plum Delight' is also called 'Hines Purpleleaf' and 'Pizzazz'. This is one of the best purple leafed varieties because of its foliage and flowers.
