'Golden Sunlight' Hydrangea
Hydrangea serrata 'Golden Sunlight' PPAF
Flower Color:
Clusters of light pink petals around darker pink flowers. There
are much better flowering varieties of Hydrangea.
Size: 4-5' in height and 4-5' in width. No late summer pruning or flowers will be lost.
Foliage: Gold colored new foliage in spring that fades to a pale green. The foliage looks great in the spring, but declines in the summer heat.
Hardiness Zones: 5-9. Very hardy.
Light Requirement: Part-shade. Morning sun and afternoon shade is best. Some afternoon wilting is to be expected in the heat of the summer. Be careful to not overwater in response.
Drought Tolerance: Moderate. Moist well-drained soil is best. Raise above grade if planting in heavy clay.
Notes: Introduced by Pride of Place Plants. Not very impressive flowering on this variety, but the foliage is very interesting. Well-drained moist soil is best for most Hydrangea varieties. Spring slow-release fertilizer is recommended.
