'Moy Grande' Hibiscus

Hibiscus grandiflorus x moscheutos 'Moy Grande'  (Rose Mallow or Swamp Mallow)

'Moy Grande' HibiscusFlower Color:  Rosy-Red flowers from early summer until frost.  Flowers up to 10" across on 'Moy Grande'

Size:  3-5' in height and width.  Do not cut until early spring.

Hardiness Zones: 5-9

Light Requirement: Full Sun to Part-Shade.  Some afternoon shade keeps them looking fresher in late summer.

Drought Tolerance: Needs moist well drained soil.  Do not allow Hardy Hibiscus to become dry or they will slow flower production.

Notes:  Introduced by Dr. Moy at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.  Very good flower production on this variety.  Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.  Allow for adequate room for this variety, because it returns bigger each year.  Very vibrant color on 'Moy Grande'.  Early spring slow-release fertilizer is recommended.
