Flower Color: Bright Pink

of pink cultivars.
Size: 10-12' in height and 6-8' in width. Can grow larger if unpruned.
Foliage Color: Burgundy new foliage that fades to green. Orange fall color. New spring foliage makes this plant desirable with or without flowers.
Hardiness Zones: 7-10
Light Requirement: Full sun to light shade. Performs best in Sun
Drought Tolerance: High. Additional watering and mulch when 'Pink Velour' is in bloom is advised.
Notes: Introduced by Dr. Carl Whitcomb. Upright tight growth habit that could be controlled at 6-8 feet in height. Very resistant to powdery mildew. Typically grown as a multi-trunked specimen. Very widely available. Probably the most popular pink variety now.
