Size: 20-25' feet high with very rapid growth. 'Red Rocket' produces a nice canopy of 12-15' wide
Foliage: Nice burgundy new foliage in spring. The foliage greens up as the flowering starts in summer.
Hardiness Zones: 6-9
Light Requirement: Full sun to part-shade. Much fuller growth habit in full sun.
Drought Tolerance: Very Drought Tolerant. Some additional water in the summer will help increase flowering.
Notes: 'Red Rocket' is a vigorous grower that adds several feet of growth each season. Very nice foliage and perfect shape for a small tree. Very low maintenance plant. Introduced by Dr. Carl Whitcomb. Spring pruning and fertilizing is recommended.
